How psilocybin helped me shift my relationship with alcohol, find deeper connection, and start living more intentionally
During the peak of the pandemic, I was burned out. I had a high-stress job, my social circle had vanished, and most nights ended with multiple glasses of wine. Like many, I was searching for reliefâfrom stress, isolation, and the lingering ache of loneliness.
Drinking became a habit I didnât question. It felt normal⊠until it started to feel numbing.
I made impulsive decisions, especially around dating, that left me feeling even more disconnected. Alcohol promised connection, but delivered shame, regret, and deeper isolation.
I didnât start microdosing to stop drinking. Honestly, I just wanted to feel betterâmore grounded, more creative, more me. But once I began microdosing with psilocybin, something unexpected happened:
âš I started drinking less⊠naturally. There was no goal. No force. No guilt. Just a soft shiftâan increased awareness of how alcohol really made me feel. And a growing curiosity about what I might feel without it.
đ± Microdosing: A Gateway to Self-Awareness
Psilocybin, even in small âmicroâ doses, helps open up awareness and emotional clarity. For me, that meant noticing how alcohol dulled my energy. I didnât need it to unwind anymoreâI had other ways of connecting with myself.
As I drank less, I started to:
Feel more in control of my choices
Sleep better and wake up clearer
Rebuild connection with my intuition
Take aligned action in my life and career
I left the job that was draining me. I started traveling again. I launched my coaching practice: TTLG Integrationâa space for people navigating psychedelic transformation and conscious living. And I made it a mission to build community that wasnât centered around alcohol.
